(Hammond, LA) -- Volunteers from Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Hammond were the honored guests at a holiday party at O'Donnell's Restaurant in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, December 10. Celebrating the holiday season with Mary Bird Perkins staff, the volunteers were recognized for their steadfast service to the Center.

"Each person here represents a donation of time and heartfelt compassion given freely to others when they need it most," said Volunteer Services Coordinator, Renee Smith. "We want to recognize and thank them for the important role they play in a patient's fight against cancer."

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has been fighting cancer for over 35 years with locations in Baton Rouge, Covington, Hammond, Houma and Gonzales.
