(Hammond) - A luncheon saluting volunteers at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center (MBP) in Hammond was a chance for the Center to show its appreciation for a special group of people who have exhibited long-term dedication to MBP and are the heart of the organization. "Our theme for the luncheon was "Thanks for Sowing Seeds of Love and Hope,'" said Patricia Estess, volunteer services coordinator, MBP. Each volunteer received a book titled The Anatomy of Hope accompanied by a packet of flower seeds. "Our volunteers positively impact the patient experience at Mary Bird Perkins in so many ways. Even the smallest gesture becomes enormous because it means someone cares," explained Estess.
