Community Library
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Community Library provides information and educational materials, self-help resources and library services to all patients, their families and caregivers, and to the community at large. The library is located within the main lobby on the first floor of the Baton Rouge facility.
Library Holdings
The library's holdings include a collection of texts, journals, newsletters, media resources (including sound and video cassettes), brochures from health-related organizations and vertical clipping file materials available for loan to interested patrons.
Computer access to the Internet is available for those seeking cancer information, with the most reliable cancer information resources already bookmarked in the computer’s Web browser. Any of the library’s books, audiocassettes and videotapes may be checked out.
Library Hours
The Community Library is open during the hours the Center is regularly open for treatment. Ask a volunteer for help if you have questions about using the library computer or checking out materials.
